JOSEP POBLET
|
Josep Poblet earned a five-years Geology
degree from the University of Barcelona (Spain) in 1986, where he also
completed a DEA in 1987 and a PhD in 1991 both on the geology of the
Palaeozoic rocks of the Spanish Pyrenees. Between 1992 and 1995 he undertook
an European Community postdoctoral fellowship at the Royal Holloway
University of London (UK), and between 1995 and 1996 he was awarded a
postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Barcelona (Spain). From 1996
Josep is a lecturer/researcher of Structural Geology at the University of
Oviedo (Spain) and from 2004 he is the Second Head of the Geology Department.
Currently, his main research interests include modelling the 2D and 3D
geometry, kinematics, tectonics-sedimentation relationships and fracture/deformation
patterns in fault-related folds developed in contractional, extensional and
inversion tectonic settings and their applications to hydrocarbon
exploration. |
